Native tree; 40–70 ft. huge (coarse) heart‑shaped leaves; showy white flowers clustered in panicles which give way to long pods that persist. Blooms May–June. Prefers full sun and average, well‑drained soil. Tolerant of wet soil. Fall color is light yellow.
